BIOGRAPHY
FRANCESCO D’ANGELO
was born in Pisa on the 30th of March, 1991. A classical guitarist, composer and teacher, his background lies in a fusion of the freedom of improvisation, modern music and the discipline of classical music.
He began his musical career just turned ten thanks to his maternal uncle, playing around and improvising. He then went on to further his studies at the “P. Passaglia” Liceo Multimediale Musicale in Lucca.
Following this, he studied at the “P. Mascagni” Conservatoire in Livorno, where he obtained the maximum grade in his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in classical guitar, under the auspices of Nuccio D’Angelo.
He then continued his studies by specialising in jazz, and was awarded a bursary enabling him to move to Finland, where he studied at the Oulu University of Applied Sciences (Oulun Ammattikorkeakoulu) and, amongst other things, started a family.
After performing in Italy and abroad with a wide range of musical ensembles, chamber, orchestral and electric, he is now focussing on solo work, with “Satumaani”, this first released recording.
